Normative Act On Climate Changes – Approval of Nationally Determined Contribution’s Document – Albania

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania approved the Decision no. 581, dated 06.10.2021 “On Approval of Nationally Determined Contribution’s Document” (published on the Albanian official gazette no. 158, dated 08.10.2021).

This Decision defines the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for achieving the global target set out by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).  

Approval of this Document aims to keep global warming rise below 2°C, preventing potential impacts and associated risks on adaptation of climate changes.

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment is responsible for submitting the abovementioned Document to the Secretariat of the Convention.

The Albanian competent authorities (i.e. The Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance) are responsible for the implementation of this Decision.
